Ramen was excellent (Mic Drop) My wife and I finished both our bowls. Will be coming back
Delicious ramen! Tantammen is the best! It's sweater weather so this was the perfect cozy/comfort meal.
Whenever we're in Phoenix, my family and I always make it a point to visit SoSoBa for lunch--it's our favorite! Our kids love the food, and it's such a joy to watch them enjoy every bite. We usually go for our tried-and-true favorites: the fresh veggie spring rolls, the chile calamari with its perfect spice, crispy fried cauliflower, and the rich beef ramen with a hint of fried chili. Every dish is so flavorful, and we're always tempted to order the same things because they're just that good. The portions are ideal for sharing, which makes it easy to sample a bit of everything. SoSoBa's menu offers a great selection that keeps everyone at the table happy. The service is fantastic--friendly, attentive, and always making us feel welcome. Though the restaurant isn't too large, it's cozy with just the right amount of space for a comfortable meal and some relaxed conversation. If you find yourself in downtown Phoenix, I highly recommend giving SoSoBa a try. There are so many unique dishes on the menu that might surprise you--and who knows, you might even find yourself planning a return visit!
I love the tea and oranges drink. I think all the bartenders are amazing. Happy hour is also very good. Lots of customers and a good vibe from employees. I really appreciate Bri, Nicki, Cezar. Even Isaiah the chef is very attentive..
I visited this place for the first time with a friend who also had never been there. It's a small little spot in downtown Phoenix. And I was impressed from the minute I walked in and was greeted by a very friendly server, who helped me understand how hot or not their food was spice wise. I took her advice and had Gyoza Ramen soup with half spicy broth, and it was perfect. I could've used a little more kick but the flavor was wonderful. I also tried the mac & cheese ball with Sriracha which was delicious as well. The one tricky part about coming here is street parking. Note that while there are meters right in front of the restaurant if you go to the side streets to the east or the west you can find street parking without meters, at least during the lunch hour.
The is a extremely good seamstress next to this place... the smell pouring out of this restaurant caught our attention so in we went. We were waling in at about 10 min till 5 and as we were seated by the hostess she let us know that all noodles and most beers wine and cocktails would be on happy hour prices within 10min. Appetizers were not included. No worries we were hungry so we ordered the crispy cauliflower and the mushrooms bao buns. Holy cow... both were out of this world, full of flavor and textures i couldn't get enough. Happy hour came around, i ordered their version of the mule and the Tantan Ramen will my husband ordered Mothra(vegan) . The Tantan Ramen honestly was surprisingly good, i felt as though for me it reminded me of pozole meets ramen. Different but absolutely amazing and satisfying. The staff were so helpful, but honestly how sweet for them to let us know about happy prices before we ordered. I highly recommend this little spot, especially if your looking for good comfort food.
Ramen fanatics, unite! When my son and his girlfriend suggested we meet at this ramen joint, I was thrilled. Located in the bustling Roosevelt Row area, this place serves up more than just noodles. From appetizers to cocktails to main courses, their menu is filled with delicious options. We thoroughly enjoyed the Hostile Takeover and can't wait to go back! Sosoba started in flagstaff quickly becoming a favorite and soon opening this second location in Downtown Phoenix. The location is small, but cute and fun. We tried the ring of fire appetizer, gyoza, tantanmen ramen , hostile takeover. Everything was delicious. Service was a bit slow for how dead it was inside, but not the worst. I'd recommend adding a bit of sriracha or chili sauce to the hostile takeover to give it more of a kick. The meat was cooked perfect and rice noodles not over done. No menu to post today as it was a scan option only.
Great service got seated quickly at the bar and able to order my drinks and food really quickly. Learned about the matcha beer I ordered. The ramen was great I wanted extra spicy but it came up a little short of what I was hoping for. The meat in the ramen was perfect and the right size to pair with the noodles. For a late night quick bite after traveling this place was more than perfect. The place was clean and well organized. The staff were engaging and kept a good conversation. Overall I liked the restaurant and would do it again.
I came here during their happy hour special (5-6pm), where they have half off their ramens and half off a lot of their drinks. It was an excellent deal: I more than happy with the price I paid. The ramen itself is pretty decent - the noodles were perfectly cooked and the toppings I got in the Katsu bowl were very tasty. The broth was solid but not remarkable: it wasn't super salty (which is good) and had some seasoning but the depth and richiness wasn't entirely there. But overall, for how good a deal the happy hour special was, I couldn't complain. The drinks are on the stronger side so I was very happy with that. The service was excellent: everyone was very friendly and took my order quickly. I got my drink and ramen at the same time, which was also appreciated.
